wedding bells

my brother and his bride were married on the 31 january 2015.
when i first heard the good news, i was extremely happy for them. and then, when i learned that they would have a "traditional american wedding" (for lack of better words) i was super excited. i had never experienced a wedding like this first hand, especially being a part of the wedding party. i would be a bridesmaid for the first time in my life and saad would be a groomsman. :)
my newest sister in law decided to infuse the two different cultures a bit by having my sister, my other sister in law, and me wearing our traditional pakistani clothes while her other bridesmaids wore their style dresses. this was my favorite part because of the way it all mixed in and looked as a whole.
also, seeing my husband in a tux was nice too because he looked so handsome. and like such a hottie. ;)

one of the things that i loved about her wedding which our pakistani weddings usually lack was the structure of it all, and how everyone was in their place and it looked very neat and well organized.

anyway, here are some pictures from the big day!

some albuquerque fun..

hi guys :) i know it's been a while since i've updated. and a lot has happened since. so let's go back to the end of january when i took a trip to albuquerque to attend my brother's wedding. :)

i was there for about a week before the husband came with his father. we would stay there together for another five or so days then head back home.

the first week i was there had its ups and its downs. so much happened, so many emotions and so many things that could've gone wrong. let's just say that i learned in that first week how much to not take for granted the people in my life. and how much one decision can forever change every little thing it's connected to. i'd rather not go into detail about everything but it was an eye opener for me. at the end, though, there was good news. there was healing and there was happiness. memories were made regardless. :)

^^my mom. the strongest person i know. i love her so much.

 ^^my sisters/best friends. i love them :)

after a week of spending time with my family, especially my mom, and some friends, it was time for the rest of the family to come into town. first, my husband and his father, then my brother and his wifey :)
