cabin fever

this past weekend saad(the husband) and i stayed in a cabin for two days with friends. we all loaded up in an suv after everyone got off work and hit the road towards gatlinburg, tennessee. the drive was about four hours where we played a bunch of road trip games, listened to the music much too loud, and even smoked hookah. ;)

on friday night, after we reached the cabin and got situated, saad and i decided to get in the hot tub for a while. it was almost one o'clock in the morning and it was so, so relaxing. there was this moment when the jets in the hot tub turned off and for a moment there was pure silence. there were no people talking, no cars driving by and no sound of the television or radio. it was like the world got quiet and you could only hear nature. we don't listen to these things as often as we should in our day to day lives, so i enjoyed this moment the most. :)

on saturday, we got continuous rain throughout the day so all our outdoor activities were cancelled. we ended up staying in our pajamas for most of the day, just hanging out at the cabin. we brought along uno which we played a lot. it's funny how competitive a bunch of grown ups can get at a card game. ;) there was also a pool table which was continuously being used the entire time. mostly the boys played against each other, but i joined the fun too. believe it or not, i was half decent. i even beat the husband in one game. :))

the boys ended up having a water fight outside on the deck (and partially inside lol). this included the hose, a few eggs, and a lot of running around leaving puddles everywhere.
there was also a lot of bumming around, music playing in the background, dancing on the pool table (again, the boys) and just relaxing with a fun group of friends.

i'm really glad we decided to make the trip out this past weekend and i'm already looking forward to doing it again. until next time ;)
