honeymooners :)

before getting married, the husband and i discussed our honeymoon a lot. i wanted to do the whole cliche of going to some beach resort and "relaxing." but he had a completely different idea. because he loves being on the road and driving, the husband came up with the idea of flying to Baltimore and driving up north from there to canada.

so this was our plan:
fly to baltimore.
hang out in washington dc.
drive up through philidalphia (and eat philly cheasesteaks, of course).
stay in new york for a couple of days.
then one last drive up to see niagara falls (from the canadian side).
and then it was back home to atl from there.

our honeymoon was about 9-10 days long and it was no where near relaxing because we were on the go the entire time. but i can honestly say that i had more fun than i would have sitting on some beach for a week doing nothing. it was our first adventure, of many, and i'm so happy we decided to do it together. :)

^^^ keeping busy on our flight to baltimore

^^^ the baltimore inner habor was so pretty :) we went paddle boating which was fun but we got a pretty good leg work out with that one ;)

^^^ a few of my favorite things from dc.

^^^ a little pit stop in philidalphia to try these famous philly cheese steaks. they were yummy indeed. ;)

^^^ we saw this pretty stretch of water and had to stop to take pictures and enjoy the view with our coffees.

^^^husband was SO excited about this parking space we found so close to time square.

^^^fell in love with this city. <3
^^^the halal guys provided 90% of our meals while in the city. ;)

^^^cake boss!

^^^ niagara falls was beautiful. the coolest thing about this place was the boat ride that took you so close to the falls, you were soaked afterwards. :) this was a nice, relaxing end to our crazy, adventerous honeymoon.
thanks husband, for this unforgettable experience. <3

the reception.

on may 26th, the day after our wedding, was our reception. this day was so different than the wedding. it was more of a relaxed, carefree kind of night. there were a few short speeches(which left a few of us teary eyed), a fun slideshow, and dancing. lots and lots of dancing. ;)

we started off the day with breakfast in bed. it was a cute, relaxing thing to do on our first day as husband and wife :)

and then began the long, hectic process of getting ready for actual event.

^^^these shots were taken in our hotel room before we left for the venue.

^^^our very first slow dance as husband and wife :) i could cry at how perfect this moment was. <3

^^^yummy mango flavored cake. :)

^^^we ended the night on the dance floor. my husband is great at dancing. and me, not so much. he loves it though so i tried just for him. see how much i love you, hubby ;)

our journey only begins here. so here's to my little fairytale life, and our happily ever after. :) there's so much more we've experienced and i'm so, so excited to share it with you.

the big day. finally.

to be honest, i'd given up completely on blogging when i got married. i was now living this very busy, yet very exciting life with my new husband. in between getting the house all set up, traveling, and just getting the hang of things, blogging was the last thing on my mind. but i know that these last eight months of my life have been simply amazing and i don't want to forget even a moment of it all. so here i am, back at it again. let's start with the beginning. the wedding. :)

our big day was in dallas, texas on the 25th of may, 2013. weddings are super stressful as it is, so the fact that we had ours in a completely different city/state than where we lived just doubled everything. but as always, things somehow seemed to fall into place and it all works out in the end. :)

^^^this henna took a good 6-8 hours to apply on both sides of my hands and on my feet. but totally worth every restless moment i sat there. :)

i can't say that this day was flawless because some things did go wrong. but looking back, i realize that it wasn't about the decor or center pieces or rushing to get to my own wedding on time. it was about knowing that this was the first day of the rest of our lives. that the guy sitting next to me is the best person in the whole world, my husband, and my very best friend. that to me is perfect. :)

a special thanks to everyone who came to share this huge moment with us. to my family who i will always miss so dearly. to his family who welcomed me with open arms. and to our friends who made the extra effort to be there. thank you and we love you :)
