independence day

for those who don't know, my husband is a very, very proud pakistani. he's absolutely in love with his home country even though he spent a majority of his life in saudia arabia and here in the us. and as far as i'm concerned, i acknowledge the fact that i was born in pakistan but my family moved my siblings and me to the states when i was just eight months old so i can't help but to feel more love towards the red, white and blue;)

BUT because i'm in a marriage and marriage is all about compromising, when the husband asked if we could throw a party for pakistan's independence day, i said sure, why not? ;)
so we invited over the family and some friends on a very last minute notice and ordered pizza's for dinner which is like the biggest oxymoron but oh well. we got a nice customized cake from publix and i also went to party city for table covers, bead necklaces for the kiddos, and balloons. not only that, but i stopped by macy's and found my husband these awesome green pants which totally went with our theme.
here are some pictures from last night :)

^^^this is from his nephews' birthday party last weekend. showing his pakistani pride ;)
